Free Realtor Marketing: Social Media

Social media marketing is one of the most underrated marketing tools there is. Social media has grown tremendously over the years and almost every person is scrolling through some platform that you probably are not using. According to Sprout Social, a social media management and intelligence tool for brands, as of 2019, 99% of millennials (and 90% of baby boomers) begin their home search online (as opposed to in-person referrals).

Instagram and Facebook are the top platforms when it comes to Real Estate, the question is are you using them to your advantage?

Using these platforms allows you to create a brand for yourself and let people know who you are and what you are doing. From info-graphic posts, you can make on Instagram, to pictures of properties you just sold. These platforms are the easiest and most effective way to get your name out there as well as market yourself. Posting is the first step, creating content that people are going to like and be attracted to.

Content Ideas:

  • Client Testimonials

  • Tips for New Homeowners

  • The House Selling Process

  • New Properties

  • Update on the Market

  • Milestones

  • Client Reviews

When creating posts use strategies like storytelling, let the reader feel engaged and like they are getting something out of your post. Using a different strategy for each post is key, for example, to inform, to engage, to entertain and to persuade. Engaging followers with Facebook and Instagram stories is a great way to keep your page interactive. Posting a question or a “this or that” post where followers can choose and or comment back to keep it entertaining for them.

Social media allows you to connect with clients before they are even your clients. Having a profile and posting meaningful content will attract the type of people who want to do business with you. Using social media and following people in your community allows you to see things they are liking and connecting with. This is something that is key and will help you reach out and relate to clients in the future. Posting tips and information on how to start looking for a house will grab the attention of future home buyers. They see you don’t just care about selling houses but helping people be informed and have the right information to start the process.

Social media is not meant to be intimidating or frustrating. In the world of real estate use social media to your advantage as free marketing and creating a brand for yourself. The platforms are a way for you to connect with your community and future clients. But also don’t forget to have fun with it!!
